Robert A. Ryter founded Ryter & Company, P.C. in 1995. Prior to that time, he was a principal with the largest consulting and accounting firm in New England, where he spent over twelve years following his graduation from the University of Massachusetts in 1983. In addition to traditional accounting and tax services, Mr. Ryter provides strategic planning, business consulting, evaluation and management advisory services to his clients. He gains particular satisfaction when he is able to offer tax and consulting advice to clients, as well as share with them ideas for strategic planning, business perpetuation and new business and financing opportunities. He also has extensive experience in the more traditional accounting and tax areas, such as preparation of year end financial statements and tax returns, year end tax planning and implementation of accounting and business systems. For over thirty years, Bob has specialized in providing business, tax and consulting services to closely held businesses and individuals, with a particular expertise in dealing with professional service firms and organizations. Cheryl Dorenfeld, CPA joined Ryter & Company, P.C. in the fall of 2009. Cheryl has over 25 years experience with regional and local CPA firms including as a manager at the largest regional firm in New England where she spent over 12 years. She has been responsible for all phases of financial statement, tax and accounting engagements for privately held companies and non-profit organizations including supervising staff and managing client relationships. Cheryl holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Babson College. Cheryl is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Board Member and past Treasurer of Reading Scholarship Foundation. Rick Belliveau has been with the firm since 2008. He began his accounting career in 1971 after graduating from Bentley College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Rick also holds master's degrees from Bentley in Business Administration and Taxation. After spending the first five years of his professional career at a public accounting firm Rick entered the private sector, which led to a series of controllerships and CFO positions at companies whose primary businesses related to the importation and distribution of consumer products. Rick also has experience in this capacity at a non-profit organization. In 2003, Rick left the private sector and focused his energy on providing a high level of taxation services to his personal clients. In addition, he lent his wealth of knowledge and tax return preparation services on a per diem basis to a multitude of Boston area firms. Derek began his career in public accounting with Ryter & Company, P.C. as a college intern through Suffolk University's cooperative education program. After graduating cum laude from Suffolk in 2003 with a BSBA in Accounting, Derek entered the school's graduate program to satisfy the 150 credit hour requirement for Massachusetts CPAs. While working toward his joint degree of Master of Business Administration / Master of Science in Taxation Derek was presented with the opportunity to broaden his career through employment at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Derek spent five years at the Big Four Firm, achieving Senior Associate level upon completion of his third year. Initially, Derek worked as an auditor of financial services firms. However, towards the end of his tenure at PwC he began to focus solely on tax compliance and related taxation issues facing privately held companies. In 2008, Derek finished his graduate studies at Suffolk and reconnected with the team at Ryter & Company, P.C. By May of 2009 Derek had returned to Ryter & Company, P.C. and one year later earned his CPA license. Presently, Derek focuses on a broad array of client matters including tax research and compliance concerning individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts. Holli has been with the firm on a part-time basis since its inception in 1995. She has worked in this capacity as the firm's billing coordinator, internal timekeeper and firm administrator.
